Position Overview
We’re building the next generation of city discovery platforms, and we’re looking for a street-smart, highly driven Media Sales Executive to generate revenue across Joburg.co.za, Pretoria.co.za, and our upcoming Velocity CMS city rollouts.
This is a relationship-based, on-the-road sales role. You’ll be out in the field, pitching campaigns, hosting catch-ups, building trust, and closing deals with PR & media agencies, brands, and local businesses. If you’re naturally social, persuasive, and proactive, this is for you.
What You'll Be Doing:

- Prospect, pitch, and close advertising deals with:
- Local businesses (restaurants, venues, attractions, etc.)
- PR and media buying agencies
- Regional/national brands
- Municipal tourism and marketing departments
- Sell across a wide range of digital formats:
- Sponsored content and articles
- Homepage takeovers and display banners
- Featured listings and event promotions
- Social media campaigns (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
- Newsletter sponsorships and promotional mailers
- Own your pipeline:
- Build and manage leads using HubSpot CRM
- Proactively follow up and maintain momentum
- Hit monthly and quarterly revenue targets
- Support pitch and campaign delivery:
- Create rate cards, media kits, and pitch decks
- Work with editorial, design, and social teams to shape campaigns
- Provide campaign reporting and optimisation suggestions for upsells
- Stay close to the market:
- Conduct regular in-person meetings, coffee catch-ups, and site visits
- Stay on top of media and local industry trends to inform pitches

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a high-energy closer with real sales presence and emotional intelligence.
Core Requirements:- 3–5+ years in media sales, advertising, sponsorship, or partnership development
- Proven ability to close deals and exceed commercial targets
- Strong existing network across PR, agency, tourism, or local business scenes
- Experience selling relationship-first campaigns, not just impressions or CPMs
- Comfortable with HubSpot CRM, Google Workspace, Canva, and pitch tools
- Familiar with Joburg and/or Pretoria local hotspots
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Comfortable doing phone-based outreach and face-to-face selling
- Charismatic communicator and natural rapport builder
- Confidence in navigating tough conversations and objections
- Self-starter who thrives in a high-energy, results-oriented environment
Target Metrics:
- Revenue closed (monthly and quarterly targets)
- Number of new meetings booked and held
- Pipeline activity and CRM updates
